Do you talk to yourself in the same way you talk to your little one?
You can do whatever you put your mind to.
You are worth it.
You’ve got what it takes.
You are unique and special.
When our kids are little we speak words of affirmation, love and acceptance over them in hopes that it sinks down into the marrow of their bones. Why? Because we actually believe these things about them.
They have so much life ahead of them…so much potential….if they simply believe in themselves.
Yesterday my 5-year-old told me:
I’m going to be a climber when I grow up!
Me: Oh yeah? Like a rock climber.
No, a tree climber. I mean, I am soooo good at it.
Me: (I don’t think I should tell her there isn’t any money in tree climbing)
I smiled at how unrestrained her dreams have become.
She truly believes she can do (or be) anything.
We can choose to believe the same things about ourselves. We can choose to have unrestrained dreams.
Your greatest potential is always ahead of you. I believe that. Doesn’t matter if you are 5, 21, 40 or 75. There is always something bigger and greater to live into.
You just have to believe that’s true. To believe it’s possible. To believe you deserve it.
You can do whatever you put your mind to.
You are worth it.
You’ve got what it takes.
You are unique and special.
I believe in you. Now it’s time for you to believe in yourself.
