I am in the middle of creating and launching a new program for working moms called the Ambitious and Balanced Working Moms Collective and… I feel really nervous about it.
But not because I’m afraid it’s not good, in fact, I know it’s excellent.
I know it’s going to teach work-life balance in a simple and doable way.
I know my students will get results fast.
I know I am an exceptional coach that will ensure everyone crosses the finish line and learns to create a balanced life.
So why am I nervous?
It’s something new.
That’s it.
I don’t have to make my nervousness mean anything more than, it’s new and therefore a bit (or a lot) scary.
You can be the best at your job and still get nervous when giving a presentation. Nothing has gone wrong, and it doesn’t mean you lack confidence.
You can be 100% sure you are making the right decision to change jobs and still feel nervous about it. Nothing has gone wrong, and it doesn’t mean you might be making a mistake.
You can be certain that leaving work at 5:00pm every day is the best thing for you and your family and still feel nervous about it. Nothing has gone wrong, and it doesn’t mean you are a bad employee.
Feeling nervous or anxious or afraid doesn’t mean anything except you are human. The emotion is just a normal flight/fight response that triggers when we are doing something new or putting ourselves out there.
You don’t have to even fix the emotion; you can just let it be.
You can be confident in yourself and your work AND nervous at the same time.
You can be 100% sure AND feel doubt at the same time.
You can experience two emotions simultaneously.
If you want to continue to live an ambitious life, stop trying to "fix" the doubt, fear & anxiety; you're just human and they're to be expected.
