Katie came to coaching wanting to find herself and her next job.
She was a six-figure earner recently unemployed with a 6-month-old and no direction.
And in three months she was in a dream job, feeling confident in herself with a clear vision for where life was headed.
How did she have so much success so quickly?
One belief: Everything will fall into place when I feel good about me again.
Katie understood that feeling good about herself was at the center of getting a job, being a present mom and ultimately just being happy.
She knew that if she continued to feel internally lost that would show up during job interviews and she wouldn’t get hired.
She knew that if she didn’t feel crystal clear about what she wanted next in her career and why, self-doubt would follow her into the next job.
She knew that if she didn’t fix the sabotaging whispers that told her she wasn’t doing enough and wasn’t good enough, her confidence would continue to lessen, and she’d experience guilt when she went back to work.
At the center of having an I’m exactly where I want to be kind of life is you. Not your career. Not your spouse or kids. Not your goals. YOU.
In coaching, Katie and I spent the first month defining who she was at the core. We didn’t talk about her accomplishments. We didn’t talk about her past experiences or accolades…we talked about what made her special. What made her unique. Her God-given talents.
After one month, her confidence returned and she started evaluating her career options.
But now, the little voice that was causing her to second guess everything was gone. She could think clearly, without self-doubt or confusion.
Together we looked at each career path and reflected on which one was right based on her core self. This brought ease to her next steps.
Within weeks she was interviewing and negotiating terms and the job happened.
She went from "I have no clue" to a six-figure job in 3 months.
And so can you.
It doesn’t start with figuring out the goal, it starts with figuring out you. What you most value. What makes you happy. What brings motivation. What your purpose in life is…
Figure out you and you’ll figure out how to reach the goal. It’s the most direct way to get there.
