Stuckness in your career generally comes down to one thing: a belief that your career and motherhood are at odds with each other.
That’s it.
It isn’t your job. It isn’t how much money you make. It isn’t your unique circumstance. It’s your belief.
With stuckness often comes a lot of confusion. A feeling of lostness. Uncertain of what to do next.
Can you relate?
But there is one question you can ask yourself that will help you take an immediate step forward:
DO I WANT TO WORK?
It is the question I ask all of my clients because it is so simple.
When we feel stuck and confused, our brain sorta drifts through a fog. It is searching for big answers to complex problems and because it can’t see where to go, it goes nowhere. The longer it goes nowhere, the harder it is to get out of the fog.
So…I take my clients back to the basics and have them answer this simple question.
And then, depending on how they answer, I craft a specific process to get them not just out of the fog but into the career they’ve been longing for.
There are only 6 options on how to get unstuck in your career. I have developed a simple chart to show you all of them and help you identify which option is best for you.
Start with the question “Do I want to work?” and then based on your answer, follow the chart until you get to the end.
(Watch this training on exactly how to use this chart if you need some help.)
Once you’re done, you will know the solution to your stuckness, and then it will be time to simply go out and do it.
I get that for most people that is harder said than done…but what if it wasn’t? What if today you took a step toward the solution?
Update your resume, schedule a meeting with your boss, commit to journaling about what you want or hire someone to help you.
If you know the solution, it is not all that complicated to make it happen…just take a step.
If you find you need help in HOW to achieve your next step, that is where I come in. I have developed a unique process to help my clients advance their careers without ever feeling like it is at odds with being a great mom.
In 6 months, you could have a new job, brand new career, more time with your kids and a confidant “I am doing exactly what I should be doing” feeling. I can help get you there.
